Ill just post in this one thread if any developments occur. Ill keep it to discussion only and no links to any "bad" software.
Released yesterday was DA's latest v3.80 M33 - Update 2 Now Available
One of the most interesting additons was this one
"From 3.80M33, you can download new M33 firmwares updates via the Network Update feature released at 3.80M33"
Anyone who wants the files and dosnt have, just ask _________________

Whoops - not keeping this up to date
Update 5 now available - Latest is now 3.80 M33-5
Quote:
Changes:
- Fixed custom CPU clock not working in games
- CPU clock has never (in any SE/OE/M33) be set at all in games that restarted using sceKernelLoadExec to use a subgame or reload themselves,
after said restart happened (e.g. Castlevania). Fixed.
- Added setting to recovery to hide PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG in the XMB game menu
By default off, when on you will probably notice a faster browse in XMB games.
This setting only applies to any kind of apps/games (pbp, iso) that load from MS, but not to UMD's. _________________

Sweet, have you tried the internet radio yet?
And what's with the RSS feed feature, it doesn't like any of the RSS feeds I give it? :( I saw there are some third party RSS readers like pReSS, have you tried any of these?
Have you got a decent solution for managing Albums of songs into folders, I tried a few apps and they worked, but were messy, dissapointed that the Sony Media manger doesn't do this, well not in the free version, I haven't tried the pro version yet...
Also have you seen that Beats game? I'm interested in trying it out... might have to buy it from the PSS. _________________ I would like my car to fly and make me breakfast!

Hi Gah,
You need to be above 3.52 M33-2 to be able to go to 3.80
I havnt upgraded yet as ive been reading issues about Memory Sticks. Nothing to do with the custom firmware but something Sony has done in 3.80. It seems to be mainly sandisk or larger MS so it shouldnt be a problem for me but i was just waiting to see. This release 5 looks ok, ill be doing it tonight or tomorrow.
"In 3.80, Sony have heavily "optimized" the fatmsmod.prx which is the memory stick driver, reducing the size by nearly 80kb.
Another change Sony made was in the np9660 file which runs ISOs from the memory stick. In 3.80, it is slower than the M33 driver, which M33 wrote themselves.
These two combined problems cause serious issues on 3.80, creating the following issues:
- Certain memory cards will be totally unreadable until formatted
- In most cases, memory card access is slowed down considerably
- ISOs will lag or appear to be running slowly, CSOs are even worse
- SaveData is sometimes impossible to load or save and the Saved Data Utility will sometimes be totally blank
- Homebrew is lagged considerably, such as ROM loading
- On certain memory cards, plugins will not load
- Homebrew and ISOs tend to crash on exit
USB access has not been affected, as these drivers haven't changed.
A possible solution is to replace fatmsmod.prx and np9660.prx with the 3.71 versions. This will not work without modifying the files as their imports must be edited to match the new NIDs in 3.80 (NidResolver does not resolve most 3.71 NIDs, especially kernel ones used by these files).
This would also make galaxy.prx (np9660 patcher) incompatible, so it's offsets would have to be changed.
I've removed the results people have given me, the results were too varied, but to summarise the worst affected card was the SanDisk 4GB followed by the Sony 4GB. Don't be surprised if you have issues on 3.80." _________________

Not yet matey.
i find the "album organising" capabilities of both the psp and ps3 to be severely lacking.
Not seen the Beats game, will have a look see _________________

Im going to go from 3.52 to 3.71 then 3.80 after that.
To upgrade to 3.71 you need a Fat 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4.
Previous versions of M33 won't work, due to a bug that affects them and OE; or a psp slim with 3.60 M33.
You will need to upgrade from 3.52 M33-1 to -2 and then -3. Go to 3.71 from there.
Ill send you the link via PM _________________

No worries matey.
I upgraded to 3.80 M33-5 the other night by using the pandoras battery.
There is a new Despertar del Cementerio out - now v4. I just updated the files on my MS and ran the update that way. Much simpler than upgrading via steps. Did you get yours sorted ?
I had a quick look at internet radio but i havnt linked the psp up to my ps3 for a while and ive left it for another night. _________________

SofiyaCat's has released a new version of PSPTube, the PSPTube20080127 with experimental function of video-out, limited to CFW3.71 PSP-2000 or later only.
Apparently it is quite good. Obviously no Tv-out function on the phat, different version has to be used

Damn, they're up to 3.9 now with Skype built in, I hadn't noticed any slowdown on mine since the 3.8 update, but can't say I've tried that much, was mainly using it to stream divx off the PS3 and listen to music.
I'm guessing PS3 will go to 3.0 for Home and PSP will go to 4.0 but I've been known to be wrong :) _________________ I would like my car to fly and make me breakfast!

Yeah, 3.90 is mostly same as 3.80, that's why almost all works. However you will loose this with this trick: pops, msvideo plugin will get corrupted in ram, vshmain will get corrupted in ram (may or may not have consequences), sysconf_plugin will get corrupted too (that maybe the reason of sys info crash).
Anyways you can wait for 3.90 M33, this is an easy firmware.
PSP Slim users enjoy v3.90 skype and homebrew - partial custom v3.9 firmware
It has been found that installing a 3.90 flash0 dump on top of 3.80 m33-5 on the PSP Slim results in a partially working custom firmware based on 3.90, because of the minor changes between 3.80 and 3.90. _________________
