Logitech has today revealed the 'official wheel' for Gran Turismo on the PS3. The wheel will be available from March 28th in Europe and April 17th in North America. It will be interesting to see if this one can compare to the quality of the Official Porsche 911 Turbo wheel from Fanatec for use with the PS3 and PC and whatever else they come up with in the price segment.

Today at the Game Developers Conference 2008, Logitech revealed the official Wheel of Gran Turismo, for Sony’s PlayStation 3.
The wheel, named Logitech Driving Force GT, has been crafted for use in Polyphony Digital’s upcoming Gran Turismo 5, and will be available in Europe on March 28th, and April 17th in North America.
Suggested retail price is US $149.99.
“We’re excited to be working with Polyphony Digital again to deliver a wheel that will satisfy the needs of car enthusiasts, like me, around the world,” said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech’s director of product marketing for gaming.
“People who love the striking realism of the Gran Turismo racing series will discover that Logitech’s latest wheel will allow them to experience the cars the way they were meant to be driven. With the Logitech Driving Force GT, you’re not playing games anymore - you’re racing!”

Not sure about dialing in settings for dampers and stuff live... but the horn is a funny addition... I'm still happy with my recently purchased G25, it has a H Pattern Shifter and a clutch pedal, which I think is a little more important than the horn or the dial... and the pedals and shifter are metal as opposed to plastic and the wheel is leather as opposed to rubber, thank god, I was so stressed I'd bought it at the wrong time. :)

Being able to dial in your settings and adjust them through a race would be really cool if you have fuel and tyre wear turned on and you were racing a 25 or 50 lap enduro, I could see benefit in that.... only for the hard core though IMO..... Most peeps race with TCS on and would never know how a well tuned, well balance car can feel in a game. _________________

meh, I'm still thinking a clutch pedal and H shifter is more important and am a little dissapointed that the official "GT5" wheel doesn't have them. _________________ I would like my car to fly and make me breakfast!

Yeah so this official wheels lacks those vital features? I'm really surprised about that - I would much rather Clutch and H Gate too.... _________________
